SEGA Pluto returns to eBay a second time
After a potential private sale to an individual fell through, Roger Vega is giving eBay another go to try to sell his two-of-a-kind SEGA Pluto. This time, the starting bid is set at a whopping $20,000.
In his previous listing, Vega set an unknown reserve price, and the the bidding ended at $15,500 with the reserve still unmet. This starting price gives us an idea of what Vega believes the system is worth. Of course, it’s hard to put a price on the Pluto since there is only one other of the prototype systems known to be in existence, and there’s not a clear precedence to go from.
Vega found the Pluto at a flea market about six years ago and bought it for only $1. As far as we know, SEGA has not officially commented on its existence since the two systems have been made public, but what we do know is the Pluto is a essentially a Saturn with built-in Netlink.
If he can manage to sell it at his starting price, it would have to be one of the most profitable finds in video game history. Good luck this time, Vega!
