Shin Megami Tensei V release date, plot, and gameplay details leaked

Its the scoop that all SMT fans have been waiting for – the release date for Shin Megami Tensei V has finally been revealed! SMTV’s Japanese website dished out a serious leak in dropping the game’s release date of November 11, 2021. While some speculate that it could be a Japan exclusive date, keep in mind that Shin Megami Tensei V is slated for a synchronized world wide release. It’s likely that its leak is connected to the upcoming E3 Nintendo Direct, which is due out on June 15th, 2021 and is believed to have a focus on Shin Megami Tensei V’s core details.

SMTV promises a new demonic experience as never seen before! Players will assume of the role of a regular high school student who is thrown into the infernal world of demons, called “Da’ath”. Upon meeting an unlikely ally, the two integrate and become the forbidden entity known as “Naobino”, who wages war on gods and demons alike.

Da’ath’s environment seems to be comparable to the desert wastelands found in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, where gargantuan demons thrive about the dunes and hellish albatrosses reign terror from above. Shin Megami Tensei V promises to pit you against over 200 kinds of demons, both featuring mainstays of the series along with some new types crafted from the mind of SMT’s veteran designer, Masayuki Doi. The main story also promises branching plotlines, like in other games, offering multiple endings fit for your warpath against the deities.

Although not confirmed to be available outside of Japan, Shin Megami Tensei V is expected to have a limited edition released known as the “Forbidden Naobino Box” that is “packed with demons and music that embody Shin Megami Tensei V“. The limited edition is slated to run you 14,800 yen (~$135).
