Skies of Arcadia sequel or remaster depends on SEGA, original dev says

Can you believe it’s been 20 years since Skies of Arcadia graced our televisions (and hearts)? In those 20 years, the game has developed a devoted following, clamoring for some sort of new game. On October 5th, Skies of Arcadia celebrated its 20th anniversary, and one of the original devs on the game, Kenji Hiruta, had this to say:

Happy 20th Anniversary of SoA! I know that many guys want HD remaster or sequel, but unfortunately it depends on SEGA and I'm not working for SoA related games. But, I've been working something related to SoA. It may be a small change, but not zero. WE are changing something. pic.twitter.com/To4K2Aq3cA

Based on some of the recent decisions from SEGA (ie the Shenmue series), I would reckon a remaster of Skies of Arcadia is not completely out of the question. He did mention something “small” related to the series, but did not go beyond that hint.
