Sonic 2 HD fan project releases teaser trailer and it looks bloody gorgeous
Demo on its way September 30th
It’s been a while since we’ve reported anything on the Sonic 2 HD fan project – the last post we did on the site was waaay back in 2014 (after the project was revived, following some downtime). But while we haven’t really heard too much about the project since then, the team at Sonic 2 HD have been slipping a few updates via their Facebook page, with some concept art and jazz. Lovely stuff.
But today, things got really exciting, as the team posted up a new teaser trailer (above) – showing the game in motion and, I have to say, my initial reaction was one of pure surprise, as I said out loud: “Holy f*&k. That looks good!”
As you can see, the game has been remade from the ground up with some beautiful HD visuals and animations. What’s more, the team has revealed that there will be a demo of the game launching in two weeks, on September 30, 2017. Colour me very excited.
You can find out more information, with updates, screenshots and even some damn fine wallpaper, at the team’s website, here.
It should be noted that Sonic 2 HD is a fan project and in no way associated with SEGA or Sonic Team and (like many fan projects) the team has been working on the project with no payment or compensation – so massive kudos to all of them.
