Sonic Colors: Ultimate “Celebration Update” includes new content, original soundtrack
Time to celebrate! Patch 3.0 for Sonic Colors: Ultimate is live now.
The famous blue hedgehog has received lots of attention this year. From the Supergroupies and Sonic collaboration to the upcoming Sonic Frontiers game, Sonic’s 30th anniversary continues with much celebration. Along with this, Sonic Colors: Ultimate receives a new ‘celebration’ update.
Sonic Colors: Ultimate Celebration Pack
Sonic’s official Twitter account tweeted out the update news Sonic Colors: Ultimate patch 3.0. The patch, officially dubbed the celebration patch, includes the Celebration Pack, quality of life updates, and some general fixes to the game. With the new update, the game continues to impress for Sonic’s 30th anniversary.
All content included in the celebration pack:
- Burst Shoes
- Burst Gloves
- Fireworks Boost
- Fireworks Aura
A particularly notable feature in the Celebration Update includes the ability to switch to the Sonic Colors original soundtrack. While reception of the game has been generally positive, fans expressed their desire for the original soundtrack. SEGA decided to appease their audience and allow a toggle between the ultimate remix and the original soundtrack.
Quality of life updates:
- Ultimate remix/Original music soundtrack toggle
- Full-screen boost bur effect on/off toggle
- Tails navigation on/off toggle
- Full-screen movie playback from the options satellite
- Improved visibility for Cyan Wisp targeting line
Other updates in the game includes:
- Improved stability on all platforms
- Updates to specific enemy attack speeds
- Improved Green Hover Wisp ring dash functionality
- Improved visibility of Big Chaser attack visual effects (Nintendo Switch)
- Various bug fixes

The Sonic Colors: Ultimate patch is already live, so there’s no need to wait around for the new content and updates made to the game. The game also reached high on the charts, meaning it must be worth the play. Additionally, if you don’t already have the game, you can pick up the standard edition for as low as $22.65 on Nintendo Switch, as of December 17.
