Sonic the Fighters joins Xbox One backwards compatibility
We’ve been eagerly awaiting Sonic the Hedgehog “2006” to be added to the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility list ever since Microsoft announced the initiative to bring Xbox 360 games over to its new system.
While it might be some time before we get Sonic ’06, Microsoft’s Larry Hryb announced that Sonic the Fighters has now been added to the compatibility list.

If you previously purchased the game on Xbox 360, it should now be available to install in your games list and be ready to install. Alternatively, you can purchase the game from the Xbox Marketplace here for $4.99.
Sonic the Fighters, as the name suggests, is a fighting game developed by SEGA AM2 that features several classic Sonic the Hedgehog characters and was originally released in arcades in 1996. A console port was eventually released on the PlayStation 2 and GameCube in 2005, with it being brought to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late 2012.
