Sonic the Hedgehog 2’s first movie poster is here, trailer drops tomorrow
The Sonic 2 trailer races into The Game Awards at 8 PM tomorrow night!
The first poster for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 dropped today on the movie’s official Twitter. In addition, they announced that the new trailer will premiere tomorrow at The Game Awards.
In addition to the Blue Blur himself, the poster shows off Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik and Sonic’s best friend Tails. First appearing in the post-credits scene of the first Sonic movie, Tails will play a major part in the sequel as Sonic’s ally. Although he does not appear on the poster, the famed Knuckles will also play a central part in the new movie.
Alongside the returning central cast from the first movie, Idras Elba confirmed his role in the movie as the red echidna Knuckles. Additionally, longtime Tails voice actor Colleen O’Shaughnessey will reprise her role for the big screen after her end-credits cameo. Although no plot details have been confirmed, ComicBook previously reported a potential plot leak via a copyright filing.
After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is ready for more freedom, and Tom and Maddie agree to leave him home while they go on vacation. But, no sooner are they gone, when Dr. Robotnik comes back, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to both build and destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
