Tails’ Channel reported Sunday morning that Sonic the Hedgehog has been nominated for Fan Favorite Retro Character in the inaugural Gamers’ Choice Awards, the first-ever network television awards show celebrating the achievements in gaming and e-sports.
Just like the People’s Choice Awards and the Teen Choice Awards, the Gamers’ Choice Awards are selected by fans, so you can vote for Sonic in the Retro Character category by logging onto gamerschoice.tv between now and November 27th. Once you sign up, you can only vote once every hour; and voting is exclusively for fans in the U.S. and U.S. territories. Other nominees of the Fan Favorite Retro Character category include:
- Mario (Super Mario Bros.)
- Link (The Legend of Zelda)
- Donkey Kong
- Pacman
- Bomberman
- Bonk (Bonk’s Adventure)
- Mega Man
- Samus Aran (Metroid)
