No matter what things you do that requires a personal keyboard, now you can do it in style. In collaboration with Higround, a collection of nerdy keyboards releases next week. The Sonic x Higround collection features three unique keyboards, sure to make your typing experience a little bit brighter.
Sonic x Higround
A collection shining light on the innovators. Sonic the Hedgehog and Dreamcast inspired a generation of gamers, and at Higround, we aspire to follow that path of innovation — fusing art and technology to make our dreams a reality.
The Sonic x Higround collection features three different keyboard designs, with two of them geared towards Sonic fans and the other towards the Dreamcast. They all look pretty cool, so it’ll be hard to pick just one. Here’s a closer look at the different styles.
Its first keyboard boasts a very classic Sonic look. The keycaps feature Sonic 1’s Green Hill Zone, with different sprites and patterns all meticulously printed on. It’s amazing they managed to fit all those details in there while still keeping the essence of the scene.
For those of you who prefer a focus on character art, the second highlights Sonic and Shadow. The two characters sit on opposite sides of the keyboard, back to back. The keycaps on the side feature Sonic’s different friends, including Tails and Knuckles. Its style feels reminiscent of Sonic Adventure 2.
The third design steps away from the blatant Sonic look for something more subtle. Outlining the shape of the Dreamcast over white keys, it appears simple and clean. However, it keeps that nice pop of color with the arrow keys accented with the colors from the Dreamcast. This is my personal favorite of the three, as it has a nice simplicity to it but still soothes the nerdy heart.
When can I buy it?
The Sonic x Higround keyboard collection releases next week on August 5, 2022. In addition to the keyboards, two mousepads, three t-shirts, trousers, and a jelly bag will also be available in a capsule. Be sure to take a look at the entire collection to decide which you want and sign up for early access. Of course, you could always cave in and buy the entire set. After all, who doesn’t need three fun keyboards?
