Square Enix to participate in E3, make announcements, company president says
It certainly hasn’t been an easy road for the lead-up to this year’s E3, as the ESRB recently confirmed it will take place completely online for the first time ever. It didn’t help that Sony said it won’t be participating in E3 2021, which is in bad need for big publishers.
But while Sony won’t be there, Square Enix will participate and make new announcements, the company’s president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda confirmed to Nikkei.
“Outriders, which was previously delayed, is due out on April 1, 2021, followed by NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… in April,” Matsuda said. “Then there is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is due out in June. As for our lineup beyond that, we’ll make more announcements in the future, including at E3 in June, so please look forward to it.”
Square Enix recently released both Outriders and Balan Wonderworld (read our review!). Between now and E3, the company has NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, Legend of Mana and Final Fantasy VII Remake (PlayStation 5) scheduled for release.
As of now, the confirmed companies to be participating in this year’s E3 are:
- Capcom
- Koch Media
- Konami
- Nintendo
- Microsoft
- Square Enix
- Take-Two Interactive
- Ubisoft
- Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
While many fans (including us!) are still waiting on a Final Fantasy IIV Remake release date on PC, we want to know what other games you’re hoping Square Enix will announce during E3 2021!
