Street Fighter V gets ‘definitive update’ on March 29th

Street Fighter V

It seems odd to think Street Fighter V was released six years ago. I can’t believe the fighter has been kicking for that long! We know the end is on the horizon since Street Fighter 6 was announced, so this news could be the final curtain call for the game.

Capcom has announced a “definitive update” for Street Fighter V for March 29th on all platforms. The update will include new graphical options and filters such as a cel-shaded filter and pixel filter. It will also add numerous new costumes and tracks to the characters – and, of course, balance changes. You can check out the announcement trailer for the update below.

Is this the last ride for Street Fighter V?

The graphical filters are neat and the cel-shaded one looks phenomenal! I think the pixel one is darker than I like for a CRT-style look? Maybe that’s just me. If this marks the end of Street Fighter V updates, it has been a hell of a ride. The game became a massive arguing point of “what should be in a game at launch vs. added in updates” at release. But it’s been amazing to see how the game has evolved over the years. Here’s to hoping Street Fighter 6 doesn’t get a barebones first release at launch!

Street Fighter V is still available on PlayStation 4 and Windows with cross-play support. Do you think this update is the last call for the brawler? Let us know below in the comments!
