To say we’re getting excited for Streets of Rage 4 is a bit of an understatement. I mean, I’m going to PAX East this weekend for the sole reason to finally play the latest demo.
There are still a few details we’re waiting for publisher DotEmu to drop on us — namely a release date — but they did clear a few things up today. The last mystery playable character has been revealed as Floyd Iraia – a hulking man complete with cybernetic arms (kinda like Mortal Kombat’s Jax).
According to his description, Floyd “dishes out serious damage with his incredibly strong cybernetic arms. Although Floyd’s movement and health recovery are slower than most, he boasts the longest reach among the playable roster and tremendous power, ensuring any combo he puts an enemy through will be devastating.”
In addition to that, DotEmu announced Streets of Rage 4 will feature two-player online and up to four-player offline co-op. This is awesome news because up until recently, we believed there would be no offline-coop, so being able to play with up to four players at a time is huge news and a first for the series!
Streets of Rage 4 is developed by Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games and will release on the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch in Spring 2020.
