New AI StyleCLIP program shows ultra creepy Kratos

“Wackadoodle” is a word we use around my house to describe something that is beyond wacky weird. It aptly can be used in reference to an AI program that replaces animated characters with human faces. From the Mad Titan Thanos, to an Asian Elon Musk, there seems to be very few limits to what Corridor Crew/Digital StyleCLIP AI can do. Although there may be things it shouldn’t do… You’ll see what I mean.

Described as “Photoshop driven by text, with all the good, bad and chaos that entails,” StyleCLIP allows you to feed pictures of people, animals, aliens, or Jax, through the AI using text commands.

Results may vary

While the software is a bit complicated to figure out, the results have been interesting to say the least. Last week, Corrdor Crew’s YouTube video showed examples of humaniod-ish(?) Link, Duke Nukem, and Woody, from Toy Story, who ended up looking like a freakishly wonky Tilda Swinton, just to name a few. Geralt from The Witcher series, definitely took the cake. Joel from The Last of Us was a close second.

IGN, not to be outdone, ran 21 different models through StyleCLIP, ranging from Kratos, God of War, Lara Croft, and Nathan Drake from Uncharted, to Sterling Archer from FX’s Archer.

And Twitter users Siberian_644 and Final_Boss took on the gaggle from Street Fighter. The posted results are…uncanny or just down right terrifying. Chun-Li, Vega and Cammy are the absolute winners here, but Ibuki, Ryu (all incarnations), and Zangief…well, see for yourself.

It really is amazing what technology can do, but perhaps somethings are best left to the imagination? What do you think of the wackadoodle face transplants? Any strike your fancy, or are they all just nightmare fuel?

If you want to try StyleCLIP out for yourself, you can find the instructions here. We would love to see any of your experiments, so hit us up in the comments below or on social media. Personally, I really want to see if Sonic looks anything like that monstrous concept from the first movie.
