Swing into a limited edition Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5

Yesterday, Sony unveiled its limited edition Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 bundle. The console, modeled after the symbiote, also sports the iconic white spider logo synonymous with Insomniac’s take on the webslinger. In addition, the bundle also comes with a matching controller. Jacinda Chew, Senior Art Director of Insomniac Games, designed the look for both the console and the controller. She explains that the symbiote’s tendrils overcoming the console and controller represent how the symbiote takes over in the game.

The design was inspired by the in-game symbiote that’s taking over the console and controller, but you can still see some of the underlying red under the tendrils. This represents the various ways players will experience the symbiote takeover in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s a constant push and pull for dominance whether it’s internal or external and the outcome is not certain.

In addition to the console and controller, the bundle will also come with a voucher for a digital copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, along with the pre-order bonuses. The pre-order bonuses include an early unlock Arachknight Suit for Peter with three color variants, an early unlock Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with three color variants, an early unlock Web Grabber gadget and three bonus skill points.

For those who already own a PlayStation 5, you’ll also be able to purchase the Spider-Man 2 cover separately. In addition, you can also purchase the controller by itself separately as well.

Pre-orders for the Spider-Man 2 PS5 bundle begin on July 28. You’ll be able to pre-order the game directly from PlayStation or at other select retailers. The console, console cover and controller will become available on September 1.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings out this October

You can pre-order Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 now for $69.99. All pre-orders for the base game will receive two alternate attires with color variants for Peter and Miles respectively. In addition, you’ll receive a Webb Grabber gadget and three skill points at launch.

In addition, you can also pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition for $79.99 to receive even more special costumes for Peter and Miles’ Spider-Men.

Hardcore fans can also order the Collector’s Edition for $229.99 to receive a 19-inch statue featuring both Spider-Men fighting Venom. Additionally, the Collector’s Edition also comes with a special Steelbook case.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive. It swings out to PlayStation 5 on October 20.
