Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayans coming to Genesis, SEGA CD

Collectorvision has announced through its Facebook page that its upcoming retro side-scroller Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayans will be ported to the SEGA Genesis and SEGA CD.

According to Retro Gaming Magazine, Jason Santuci is working on the Genesis port of the game, where he’s using assets from higher-end versions of the game, rather than try to upscale them from the NES version.

The game, which is heavily inspired by the Indiana Jones movie series, but also takes inspiration from Montezuma’s Revenge and Pitfall, is in development for numerous platforms and has a planned release date of late 2016.
