The Evil West co-op mode lets you slay vampires with a friend
With Evil West's co-op mode, you and a friend can hunt down vampires in the Old West in glorious gory style.
Evil West is shaping up to be a fun and ridiculous vampire Western action game, and we can’t wait to sink our teeth into it when it launches later this month. The fist-pumping gameplay is already enough to get us enticed, in addition to its promise of gory visuals and excellent atmosphere. Yet until now, we haven’t had a good look at one of it’s promised features: the co-op mode. However, that’s been rectified with a new trailer.
Tomasz Gop, lead producer at Flying Wild Hog, introduced the first official co-op gameplay trailer in a video published to Focus Entertainment’s YouTube channel. That trailer showed off some of what you can expect slaying the vampires of Evil West with a friend.

Fight the hordes together with the co-op mode in Evil West
In Evil West’s co-op mode, both players will take control of main character Jesse Rentier. Each player will tackle hordes of vampires and demons together through the Old West. Difficulty is scaled upwards to accommodate for two players, with some encounters having a different composition of enemies. According to the developers, all main story missions can be played either single-player or cooperatively.
As Gop admits in the video, Evil West was not built with co-op in mind. The game is primarily a single-player adventure and the co-op mode was added as a secondary feature. Thus, only the host player can progress the story during a co-op adventure. Also, it seems that the co-op mode is relegated to online; there’s seemingly no plans for couch co-op for Evil West, at least for the time being.
Evil West is developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Focus Entertainment. It will be available on Nov. 22 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
