The Monster Hunter Rise and Sonic collaboration happens this month
We don't have much longer to wait to see the worlds of Sonic and Monster Hunter collide!
During Tokyo Game Show 2021, Capcom revealed that Monster Hunter Rise would have a crossover event with Sonic the Hedgehog. Since the first announcement, Capcom remained pretty quiet about it. However, over the weekend, they reminded fans on Twitter that the collaboration will still happen this month.
Although Capcom did not reveal the date, they did direct fans to a landing page regarding the collaboration. Currently, there is no further information. However, Capcom urges fans to stay tuned for more details on the site. Considering we’re nearly halfway through the month, more news is likely to come in the next several days.
The collaboration between Sonic and Monster Hunter Rise is part of the year-long celebration of the blue blur’s 30th anniversary. Over the year, SEGA promoted a number of collaborations featuring Sonic to help celebrate, ranging from GFUEL’s Party Punch to a crossover with PSO2: NGS, another SEGA property.
Capcom, on the other hand, is currently putting in work to promote Monster Hunter Rise. They recently just came off another successful crossover event with Ghosts ‘n Goblins. Additionally, they are teasing free DLC for the game as well. Capcom is also gearing up to release a PC version of the game in January as they implement their new focus towards PC gaming.
It will be interesting to see how the very different worlds of Monster Hunter and Sonic mesh in the collaboration update. Fortunately for fans, there won’t be too much longer to wait. Are you excited to see the crossover? Let us know below!
