Super Monkey Ball fans, now is your time. It looks like SEGA is not playing around this year. After dropping the Virtua Fighter bomb at the beginning of the month, SEGA has another franchise looking to make a comeback. Earlier today, they officially announced Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania to commemorate its 20th anniversary.
This title is a remaster of the first three Super Monkey Ball games. The first two games were originally released for the Nintendo GameCube. The next game, Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, was release on both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It combined the levels of the first two games, as well as entirely new ones. These were very well received by both fans and critics, spawning dozens of titles in throughout the past two decades.
You control these adorable monkeys in capsule-toy shaped balls, rolling around challenging levels. There are even these awesome mini-games where you can pit monkey against monkey. Tangle with your fellow chimps in billiards, golf, bowling, and more.
Banana Mania combines the first three games with updated graphics, online challenges, and leaderboards. On top of that, there’s even new characters you can control! Like the original games, you can play Banana Mania with three other people in local co-op. A Digital Deluxe version of the game is also available. It includes six classic skins, custom items, and a soundtrack.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania heads to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The console version costs $39.99, while the PC version goes for $29.99. The game launches worldwide on October 5th.
