Whether you want to have some radical beat ’em up fun in TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection or relive the dramatic tale of Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us: Part I, there’s a new game coming for you! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection (Aug. 30)
Kicking things off this week, we have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection! Developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Konami, this radical collection of Turtles games takes players back to all the arcade and retro beat ’em up classics. Featuring 13 classic TMNT games spanning arcades to home consoles like the NES and SEGA Genesis, this collection is a must-have for any Turtles fan.
In addition to the extensive library of games, this title also comes packed with additional features, art and extras for diehard fans. Players can also take advantage of a more modern control scheme and other sensitivity options. TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection slams out tomorrow for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed (Aug. 30)
Invading your home next is Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed. Developed by Black Forest Games and published by THQ Nordic, the team completely rebuilt the original game in Unreal Engine 4. Promising to be, “the most funkadelic version” ever made, the remake adds new features to the 2006 classic.
Some of the new features hitting this remake include additional skins for Crypto and the ability to change paint jobs on your flying saucer. In addition, you can also have fun exploiting all new weapons like the Meteor Strike to annihilate your foes. Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed flies out tomorrow for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Ooblets (Sept. 1)
Then, developer and publisher Glumberland bring us the cute farming simulator Ooblets. In this harming indie title, players are tasked with planting and growing loveable creatures called Ooblets. From there, you can train your Ooblets to perform tasks and compete in dance battles.
In addition, you can decorate and expand your farm and complete side quests from the citizens of Badge Town. Originally, the game first launched on PC with early access and on Xbox One with Xbox Game Preview in 2020. Now, Ooblets makes its full official debut on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 1.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R (Sept. 2)
Is that a JoJo reference? You better believe it is with the new remaster of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R. This title, developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco, is the ultimate fighting game for fans of the anime and manga.
The original game launched in 2013 as a PlayStation 3 exclusive and brought with it 40 playable characters from all eight chapters of the manga. Now, the remaster not only brings this fighting cult-classic to modern gen, but it also introduces ten all new playable fighters. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R slams out to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 2.
LEGO Brawls (Sept. 2)
If you’re looking to duke it out in the world of LEGO, then we have the perfect game for you. Developed by Red Games and published by LEGO Games, LEGO Brawls is the ultimate Minifigure team action brawler. In this exciting new platform fighter, you can team up with your friends both locally and online to become the world’s greatest LEGO fighting champions.
You can also fully customize your LEGO Minifigure hero with unique styles, strategies and personality. Then, you can take them through various stages modeled after your favorite LEGO sets like Barracuda Bay, Ninjago Seabound and more. LEGO Brawls slams out on September 2 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness (Sept. 2)
Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is a 3D action RPG with an original story set in the world of the anime. Developed by Chime and published by Spike Chunsoft, this game returns many fan-favorite characters with their original voice actors. In addition, the story was even supervised by the manga’s original writer Akihito Tsukushi.
The game follows the anime’s story after Riko and Reg’s first meeting in the first episode of season one. Additionally, another completely original story in the game follows days after Riko and Reg depart from the Abyss. Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness launches for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 2.
The Last of Us Part I (Sept. 2)
Finally, Naughty Dog and PlayStation Studios take us back to the origins of The Last of Us with a complete redesign of the original. Although the original story will remain intact, the remake promises to improve on many technical aspects of the game. The next-gen remake will feature modern control updates, improved graphics and modern accessibility features.
Overall, the new game hopes to serve as the definitive version of The Last of Us by retelling the original critically-acclaimed story with gameplay more akin to Part II. You can reexperience The Last of Us Part I on September 2 for PlayStation 5. In addition, the game will also head to PC at some point in the future.
