Troubled Genesis beat ’em up, Paprium, finally has a release date
And it's coming in a few days!
Watermelon’s Paprium will be home for Christmas.
Pre-orders of the long awaited side-scrolling beat ’em up are now shipping with the official release date on Dec. 16.
“Paprium is the pinnacle of video game programming, engineering and artistic excellence, nothing less, believe it or miss it. Actually, Paprium is much more than a game, it’s the total and absolute victory against the odds,” the email read. “We are, at this very time, packing and soon shipping our pre-orders. The release day will be on Dec. 16, 2020.”
For those who didn’t initially pre-order the game, there will be another opportunity beginning sometime in the first quarter of 2021, according to the email. “Our stocks are limited, and we will likely sold out in a snap, the email read. “You will be able to pre-order for the next shipping batch, estimated delivery 1st trimester 2021. Don’t panic, the wait is worth it.”
It’s been a long time coming, with orders initially opening up about three years ago, but if it certainly looks like Paprium will have been worth the wait. As described on the game’s homepage:
Year 8A2, somewhere at equidistant point between Shanghai, Tokyo and Pyongyang, a Megapolis rose from ashes of the shortest but most devastating nuclear war in history, its name is PAPRIUM. BRUTAL, MASSIVE. You will fight your way through the city with Tug, Alex and Dice. Redefine the word justice, deal with the BLU drug temptation, and more importantly: STAY ALIVE!
Pre-orders for the game’s various editions, as well as the awesome looking Grand Stick III, are still available here. We’ll be sure to bring you more coverage of Paprium as soon as we get hands on it.
