Unreleased 1994 game ‘Hardcore’ will be included on upcoming Mega Sg

Recently it was announced that an unreleased game by the name of Hardcore would see the light of day on PS4, Vita, and Steam. Hardcore, a shoot-em-up game, was initially planned to release on the Sega Genesis in 1994 by Digital Illusions (now known as DICE).

Unfortunately, due to the next generation approaching at the time of the game’s near-completion, Hardcore was put on hold. Until now!

Not only is Hardcore finally releasing, but it will be built in to Analogue’s upcoming Genesis clone the Mega Sg. Unlike the ill-fated PlayStation Classic, the Mega Sg does not use emulation to play games.

Analogue uses an Altera Cyclone V FPGA chip, which has been successful at providing 100% compatibility in their Nt mini and Super Nt clone consoles. So you can plug your cartridges in and enjoy your games on your HD TV!

Pre-orders for the Mega Sg are ongoing, and the system is due to begin shipping in April 2019.

So now you have two awesome opportunities to support a game brought back from the dead! What choice will you make?
