Veteran composer Jun Senoue joins Sonic Colors: Ultimate OST remixes

We hear the music! Do you? If you’re on the proverbial fence about Sonic Colors: Ultimate, a new announcement from SEGA might just change your tune. Last week, Sonic the Hedgehog’s official Twitter account revealed: “The legendary Jun Senoue has joined the roster of Sonic Colors: Ultimate OST remixers!”

Senoue began working with SEGA’s Sonic team in 1993, composing tracks for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Originally from Japan, Senoue moved to the US in 1998. He joined Sonic Team USA as the composer and musical director of Dreamcast’s Sonic Adventure, and rose to popularity. Since then, he has worked on scores for many titles, including Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow the Hedgehog, Team Sonic Racing and the track “Angel Island Zone” for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. For Sonic fans, his style has become very recognizable.

His most recent works can be heard Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and Sonic at the Olympic Games- Tokyo 2020.

In addition to working with Sega, Senoue is the lead guitarist and composer for Crush 40, a hard rock band he started in 2000. Crush 40 has preformed music for NASCAR Arcade and the main themes for several Sonic games. The band has played at Comic-Con on several occasions and across the pond in London at 2016’s Summer of Sonic.

Senoue is possibly one of an undisclosed number of composers lending their talents to the Sonic Colors: Ultimate OST remixes. We will continue to update our coverage as more information comes available. To get a complete picture of what we know, check out our previous article
