Holy cow, it’s already May! Where has time gone? Speaking of time, did you know this month marks the SEGA Saturn’s 20th anniversary of release in North America. That’s really crazy and makes me feel old, probably about as old as my parents felt back then.
Anyway, to mark the occasion, we decided to highlight one of the Saturn’s greatest fighting games – Virtua Fighter 2.
Why Virtua Fighter 2?
Thanks to the wizards at SEGA AM2, Virtua Fighter 2 is one of the best arcade-to-console fighting game conversions of all time, and it’s one of those games every SEGA Nerd, young and old, should experience in his or her life.
How it works!
Oh, you’re a new member to the Game of the Month Club, you say? Well, here’s how it works:
- We choose a game;
- Play it throughout the month and
- Share our experiences together in the SEGA Nerds official forum thread.
It’s a month-long discussion, so we encourage you to participate in the forum thread as often as possible as you experience the game. As usual, we have several articles specific to our Game of the Month.
How you can play!
Thankfully, you won’t actually have to hunt down Virtua Fighter 2 in the arcades to participate because SEGA has released it on home consoles a few times now. Here are your options:
Virtua Fighter 2
- Go to the funkin’ arcade
- Buy it on the Saturn
- PlayStation Network for $4.99
- Xbox Marketplace for $4.99
- Steam for $2.99
