Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, Digimon Survive, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and more!
Welcome, everyone! It’s the start of a new week, which means we have a lot of exciting new game releases in store. Whether you love light-hearted simulation games or epic RPGs, there’s something special for you. From Digimon Survive to Xenoblade Chronicles 3, here are this week’s new releases players can look forward to!
Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town (July 26)
Starting things off, we have Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. Developed by Marvelous Entertainment and published by XSEED Games, this simulation game sees you helping the mayor of Olive Town improve the village. As you take on development projects, you can watch the small village of Olive Town grow and prosper.
In addition, the game offers a rewarding progression system for completing basic tasks, ranging from cutting down trees to tilling the land for crops. Completing these tasks allows you to perform new crafting recipes that allow your character to use upgraded tools and customize your environment. Although the game first launched last year for Nintendo Switch and PC, PlayStation 4 players can get their hands on it tomorrow.
Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent (July 27)
Entering the battlefield next is Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent. Square Enix’s mobile prequel to the 2018 RPG Octopath Traveler first launched in Japan in 2020. Now, for the first time, players in the west can experience the latest epic.
Overall, the prequel plays similarly to the original title. Like the original game, the gameplay highlights a turn-based field command system. However, this time, players can have eight characters enter the battlefield instead of only four. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent comes to iOS and Android devices on July 27.
Bear and Breakfast (July 28)
Developer Gummy Cat and publisher Armor Games Studios introduce their new cute simulation game Bear and Breakfast this week. This charming new title places you into the paws of a kind-hearted bear as you work to manage a forest-based bed & breakfast. After discovering a run-down inn in the woods, it becomes your goal to build the dilapidated building into a welcoming house of hospitality.
As you decorate and build the new B+B, you’ll also need to keep the new influx of guests happy as well. In addition, you can fully customize each room individually to your likings and complete quests to unlock new decorative items. Bear and Breakfast comes to PC on July 28 and later this year for Nintendo Switch.
Lost Epic (July 28)
If you’re looking for a flashy and addictive action RPG to dive into, you won’t want to miss Lost Epic. Developed by Team Earth Wars and published by OneOrEight, this 2D action RPG puts you into the shoes of a God Slayer as you journey to vanquish the divine gods who threaten humankind. In addition, the game expertly blends Metroidvania-style exploration with Souls-inspired combat and a vibrant anime art style.
Throughout the game, players can enjoy a highly immersive skill tree that allows full customization to fit everyone’s unique playstyles. You can also take the fight to the divine gods with friends in three-player online co-op. After first launching in Steam Early Access, Lost Epic officially launches for PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on July 28.
Digimon Survive (July 29)
Digimon Survive is a strategy game that sees you take on the role of student Takuma Momozuka who finds his way into the Digital World of Digimon. Developed and published by Bandai Namco, this game’s story follows Momozuka’s journey through the Digital World as he and his friends work to find a way out. As the story progresses, players can experience the drama unfolding through the game’s unique visual novel style.
Gameplay takes the form of a turn-based strategy format that makes use of a grid battlefield. Fortunately, there are tons of fun Digimon to meet and collect, including your partner from the beginning, Agumon. Digimon Survive comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on July 29.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (July 29)
JRPG fans won’t want to miss the third installment in the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise. Developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 puts you into the war-torn world of Aionios. As the nations of Keves and Agnus fiercely battle, you’ll meet a cast of interesting characters, each with their own unique strengths and personality.
One of the central themes of the game is life. The soldiers who participate in the conflict have finite lifespans of a mere 10 years. The goal is to endure the front-line service to become immortalized in the Homecoming ceremony. You can begin your journey in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on July 29 for Nintendo Switch.
