Rejoice, Sonic Adventure 2 fans! Earlier today, the SA2 Animated MV team announced on Twitter that their long-awaited music video retelling launches at noon EST on January 29th.
As a fan project, Sonic Adventure 2: Reimagined pulls together talent across the web in hopes of retelling the epic events that transpired in SA2. Through a unique multi-animated perspective, fans of the game can rekindle old memories as they watch Sonic and Shadow duke it out once again. If the poster above isn’t an indicator, we’re bound to see some refreshing art direction from this project!
Organized by Acruxicon with a list of crazy talented artists like DocBean_XL and ArionMiitoons, SA2:Reimagined has been in public motion since 2018. What started as a concept soon birthed into an artistic celebration of the highest acclaimed 3D Sonic game. After the 30th anniversary of Sonic from 2021, it’s cool to see love for the franchise in the new year.
If you haven’t already, I’d recommend watching the trailer above and viewing a few clips on their Twitter page. You’d be surprised to see the blend of art styles weaving into each other to follow the original story.
